I Love Movies Trivia Night

Cinema St. Louis is hosting its’ fifth annual I LOVE MOVIES trivia night on Friday, June 20, 2008 at Centene Center for Arts and Education located at 3547 Olive Street (1/2 block east of Grand Blvd.) with celebrity host emcee to be announced soon. Doors open at 6:15 and trivia begins at 7:30 pm. All questions and answers will have a movie-related theme. Cost (if pre-registering) is $20 per person/$160 per table of 8. Admission at the door is $25 per person, if space is available. Pre-registration is highly recommended. Prize baskets and supreme bragging rights will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and last places. There will be plenty of door prizes, a silent auction, 50/50 raffle, and contest for Best Table Decoration. A sheet of 10 mulligans will be on sale for $25 before the start of Round 1. B.Y.O. beverages, liquor and food. Wines from Chaumette Vineyards, Anheuser-Busch beer, and soda will be available for a modest donation. Complimentary water and popcorn provided as always. All proceeds support Cinema St. Louis, presenter of the St. Louis International Film Festival, and its mission of promoting the finest in cutting-edge local, national and international film. St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase (SLFS)

The Eighth Annual SLFS will be held July 19-24, 2008. This event focuses exclusively on the work of local directors and filmmakers, as well as expatriates with strong local connections who have gone on to use their creative talents in other cities. St. Louis International Film Festival (SLIFF)

The 17th Annual SLIFF will be held Nov. 13-23, 2008. It annually features the St. Louis premieres of more than 200 films. Submissions will be accepted March 1 - July 1, 2008. CinemaSpoke

Cinema St. Louis, the presenters of the St. Louis International Film Festival, has announced the five finalists in its annual CinemaSpoke screenplay competition and workshop. The five screenplays will receive partial readings, one a month from April through August, with the winning script receiving a full reading on Monday, Sept. 15.
